ISO Certification — What It Means For You?

When Feng Sheng Metal Works was first awarded the ISO certification more than a decade ago, our consultant told us something that surprised even us — we were the first metalworks company in Singapore to receive it.

For us, this wasn’t just a plaque to hang on the wall. It represented decades of hard work, consistency, and a commitment to doing things the right way, even when no one was watching.

What is an ISO Certificate?

ISO (International Organization for Standardization) certification is a globally recognized mark of quality assurance. It’s awarded to companies that meet strict international standards in areas such as product quality, safety, reliability, and consistency.

In short, it’s a guarantee — that the work you do, the systems you follow, and the results you deliver meet a world-class benchmark.

What Does ISO Certification Mean for a Metal Works Company?

In the metalworks industry, precision and reliability are everything. One small mistake in measurement or process can cause costly delays, wasted materials, and most importantly, safety issues.

Having an ISO certification means our internal processes, from design and cutting to installation, are held to consistent, verified standards. Every project goes through strict checks for accuracy and quality, whether it’s a custom metal façade or a hotel lobby feature wall.

That’s also one reason why Feng Sheng has become a trusted partner for large-scale tender projects and interior upgrades, including Pan Pacific Orchard, Pullman Hotels, and other luxury developments across Singapore.

How to Get an ISO Certificate

Getting an ISO certification isn’t a simple checklist. It’s a rigorous process that involves auditing, documentation, and system reviews.

A company must prove that its workflows are consistent, that quality control is built into every stage, and that continuous improvement is part of its culture.

Many metalworks companies in the early 2000s focused only on production speed — but at Feng Sheng, we’ve always prioritised quality, documentation, and sustainable operations. That foundation became our edge when ISO standards were introduced to the industry.

How We Managed to Get Ours

When we applied for ISO certification, our consultant told us that we were the first metalworks company in Singapore to achieve this.

It was a proud moment for our entire team, not just because of the recognition, but because it validated the way we’ve always worked — with discipline, honesty, and care.

Over the years, that same commitment has helped us win multiple tender projects, from hotel upgrades like Pan Pacific Orchard and Pullman, to major commercial developments.

Back in the early days, before Marina Bay Sands and Singapore’s casino projects even broke ground, we were already part of the first batch of metal contractors invited to submit mock-ups. While we didn’t take on every opportunity — we focused on staying sustainable and financially grounded, that decision helped us endure while others folded.

Today, Feng Sheng continues to balance craftsmanship with responsibility, building not just for the present project, but for the long-term trust of our clients.

Quality That Lasts

The ISO certificate isn’t just a title for us — it’s a reflection of how we work. Every beam we cut, every panel we weld, every structure we build carries the same principle that got us here.
